MEET LAUREN

How do we want childhood to feel?

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I’m a mom to two young boys, a guide within a nature-based, project-based learning community, and the founder of Havenwood Learning.

Like many parents, I wanted our days to feel meaningful, but I often found myself overwhelmed trying to plan everything and wondering if I was doing enough.

Around that same time, I was watching children learn deeply through nature, projects, conversation, meaningful work, and experiences that met them where they were. I began to see that learning did not need to look impressive to be meaningful.

I kept thinking there had to be something in between. Enough guidance for a parent to feel supported, but enough openness for the child, the family, and the week itself to breathe.

Havenwood grew from that idea. Each weekly rhythm is thoughtfully shaped to reduce decision fatigue, create more room for curiosity and connection, and help families create the kind of childhood they’ll want to remember.

Children may not remember which workbook they used. They will remember how home felt.

A few simple questions

Havenwood is designed to feel calm, flexible, and easy to begin.

What do I receive each week?

Each week, Havenwood delivers one ready-to-use rhythm with three simple days inside. Use the full rhythm, or simply choose the parts that fit your family best.

Who is this for?

Havenwood is for families with young children who want a calmer, more meaningful way to shape the week. It works beautifully for homeschool families, preschool-at-home families, and parents who simply want thoughtful ways to learn and connect at home.

It is especially helpful for families looking for secular, nature-based learning, hands-on experiences, and more connection without making the day feel like school.

What ages is this for?

Havenwood was created for families with young children who learn best through curiosity, conversation, hands-on experiences, and time outdoors. Because every child develops differently, you’ll naturally adapt each rhythm to your family’s interests, abilities, and season of life.

Is Havenwood secular?

Yes. Havenwood rhythms are secular and nature-based. They are designed for families who want simple, hands-on learning without religious instruction or a boxed curriculum feel.

Is this a full curriculum?

Havenwood is a curated weekly living rhythm, not a boxed curriculum. That is intentional. Each week is shaped around a seasonal theme with nature-based invitations, hands-on experiences, meaningful work, and every day moments of connection.

Use it on its own in the early years, or alongside the phonics, math, handwriting, or curriculum your family already uses.

What if I’m not ready for a full curriculum?

That is exactly where Havenwood can help. It gives you a simple weekly rhythm with enough structure to begin, without the pressure of a large curriculum or a school-at-home schedule.

What makes Havenwood different?

Havenwood is not a big list of activities to sort through. It is already gathered, shaped, and curated into a simple weekly rhythm.

The goal is less decision fatigue, more presence, and more space to notice, wonder, and learn alongside your child.
